Why I Love Community Coins (Rooty Coins)

Bitcoin is global. That's good.
But global doesn't mean human.

Humans live within borders, languages, and laws.
We need blockchains that speak to local problems with local solutions.

That’s where Community Coins come in — I call them Rooty Coins.

🌱 Rooty = Grassroots + Sovereign

Coins like:

  • Canada eCoin
  • eGulden (Netherlands)
  • Auroracoin (Iceland)

…aren’t trying to be the next global reserve asset.
They’re trying to build self-determination from the ground up.

They are:

  • Sovereign testbeds
  • Locally relevant
  • Politically disruptive
  • Human scale

Why Rooty Coins Matter

Bitcoin = coordination at global scale
Rooty Coins = coordination at human scale

Community coins offer:

  • Localized monetary systems
  • On-chain democratic tooling
  • Identity integration (citizen chains, ID overlays)
  • Cultural relevance (language, law, symbolism)

Where Bitcoin is neutral and universal,
Rooty Coins are opinionated and grounded.

🇨🇦 Canada eCoin – My Favorite Rooty Chain

Canada eCoin (CDN) has:

  • Fast block times
  • Active developer tools (eCoinCore)
  • Zero Premine / Fair Release

It lets me treat CDN like a sovereign data bus for P2P Canadian infra.

Why These Chains Matter for Builders

When I build with Rooty chains:

  • I don’t need Wall Street
  • I don’t need venture capital
  • I don’t need permission
  • I don’t need a giant userbase

I need one village, one group of devs, one experiment.

And that’s enough.

Community Coins Are Evolution Engines

Global chains will stabilize.
Local chains will mutate.

And that’s the whole point.
That’s the lab — the dojo — the sandbox for change.

Rooty chains are the most important class of cryptocurrencies.
They serve people, not platforms.
They give communities the power to evolve.

In My Stack

I use Rooty coins:

  • To experiment with on-chain voting
  • As economic inputs for localized apps
  • For anchoring peer IDs and metadata
  • As runtime context inside koad:io

They’re not memes.
They’re neighborhood superpowers.

Don’t underestimate the small chains.
They’re where the future gets prototyped.
